The meaning of the esthetics is to handle the object which is a kind of `the bearty`, which is namely the one of the phenomenon that is captured by the sensitive consciousness. This `the beauty` is not the beauty which is sought as an ideology, but beauty which is dedicated to our consciousness. Additionally, the object of the esthetics is to study what makes people happy and to figurate the environment of the esthetic behavior as the thing which has the esthetic meaning. Problems about the esthetics became the major issues in a lot of discussions of among philosophers, artists, and architects, and at the same time the demonstrative science about the esthetics has been sought. Along with this development of the science, the concerns about the experienced researches were rapidly raised, and the organic relationship between the human being and the environment is being treated importantly. The experienced esthetics clarify the characteristics of the relationship among each the element which concerns the object, the recognition, the acknowledge, evaluation, and the behavior which give the pleasure, and have concerns about understanding the nature of the creative human ability. This experienced esthetics can be divided by the formal esthetics and the symbolic esthetics. The formal esthetics is relate with the expressive message which is based upon the biology, and focuses upon the preference of the order and the complexity which are accompanied by the form and structure of the environment. That is, when viewed in the whole scale, it should not be distracted and dispersed, and at the same time it should not be simple and dull. Additionally, the symbolic esthetics grants the diversity, the individuality, and the historic coherence to the object by the research about the symbolic meaning about the environmental pattern which gives the pleasure to human beings, and becomes the important constituent in the preference for the environment. Therefore, based upon this symbolic esthetics, among the environmental elements, about the character which can be thought to be the visual symbol, I would like to study the meaning which is expressed through the symbolic classification of the character of each ward focusing upon the character of the ward which is the same residental group, and would like to propose the perspective plan in the future. According to this research, when considering each character`s meaning which is visually symbolized, it is shown that the bird symbolizes the good news and the peace, the flower symbolizes the smile and the friendliness, the human being has the symbol of the image of the liveliness, the development and the intention, the image of the mask has the symbol of the consciousness of the masses and has the hope about the root and the future. By using those characters which express the symbolic meanings in the outdoor indication, the content of the placard, and the signature board in the urban environment, the characters are considered to be the elements which can give the intimacy, make the feeling of being belonged and the solidarity, and easily approach the people in the ward. Therefore, the ideology and the volition which each ward wishes to speak express the symbolic meaning by the character which symbolized each ward. Additionally, the significance comes form the fact that the characters enable the ideology and the volition to be remembered potentially associated with each ward while being confronted with the visual characteristics, in the urban environment in each ward. Namely, in the aspect of the symbolic esthetics, the character of each ward hardens the volition of each ward, the feeling of being belonged and the solidarity of the people in the ward. Additionally, it bestows the friendliness in the urban environment, consequently it is thought to take an important role as the element which helps to activate the established device.
