Hotel lobby, as a first interior space inviting customers, making a first impression on them, forms a specific image of the hotel. In this following are studied about the hotel lobby space, a center of the hotel`s interior spaces. On the base of the studies above, I made following conclusions about the characterization of design of the hotel lobby space. First regarding the spatial characteristics; -Lobby space should be open space which gives full spaciousness and liveliness. Sufficient area, ceiling height and the correlation with the outer space will be required to meet this condition. -It is recommendable that the composition of the hotel lobby should be located in the center of parlours and facilities as a consequence of enough consideration of movement systems and the hotel`s trait and it is possible to consider the full opening of lobby`s front and an elevator for outlook in order to enhance the image of the lobby. -By giving different levels in natural way to the bottoms of lobby, lounge, and coffeehouse, spatial priorites and diversities can be achieved. Regarding interior design; -The interior design of hotel lobby should have both regional and inter and international characteristics and more over, it should be matched with contemporary tastewell. -To maximize the interior design, the introduction of natural elements such asfountains, ponds, landscape architectural factors and objective elements like furnitures and works of art can used voluntarily. All the design principles referred to above should be conducted on the assumption that the basic function of hotel is giving composure and comfort.
