This study aims to explore weather and climate, and natural environmental factors influencing the beach volley ball game in depth. To achieve this purpose, an in-depth interview with two beach volley ball national team coaches and four beach volley ball national team members was conducted. As a result, weather, wind and sand were found to be components of weather and climate, and natural environment related to the beach volley ball game. First, sunshine, temperature and rain were weather factors. Sunshine can block views of players and causes a difficulty when players detect the motion of the ball and receive a ball, since they cannot look forward temporarily. Also, moisture in the body is exhausted very quickly when exposed to a high temperature for a long time and this can lead to reduction of physical strength and dehydration. When the temperature was low, or it rained, players participated in the game wearing track suits or sweat suits. Second, rain factor consisted of wind strength and wind direction. Wind strength and wind direction can change the trajectory direction and velocity, so players practiced a lot of techniques and strategies to provide against the momentary situations of wind and applied them to the game. Third, sand factor consisted of sand thickness and sand condition. These sand properties influenced players’ receive, blocking, attack motions, jump height or timing, game tactics, players’ condition control or injury. Based on these findings, this study discussed a strategy to get over weather and climate, and natural environmental factors in the beach volley ball game.
