This study is to analyze about lessons learned from Vietnam"s History and collapse of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam). This paper consisted of three parts such as the history and war of the Vietnam, the reasons about collapse of the South Vietnam, and issues rising from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Especially, analysis of the data was tried to objective analysis based on historical facts of the Vietnam. The results of this study are as the followings.
First, history about Vietnam is giving many lessons to the Korean Peninsula. Korea and Vietnam are positioned in the similar geo-politic location. Historical lessons about Vietnam could be understood through the study on national titles of Vietnam. Accordingly, it is needed to study more deeply on the classification of differences about the South Vietnam, the Republic of Vietnam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vietminh, and so on, and contents related names of the nation and wars.
Second, the reasons of occupying the South Vietnam by the communists could be summarized as the four elements which are the corruption of her government and leaders, the egoism of her peoples, the idle and decay of her military forces, and the wrong strategies of the United States (US). Those four elements of reasons mentioned above sentence were interacted and escalated among others. Consequently, the South Vietnam fell down finally even though positive supports from democratic freedom countries such as the US, and so on.
Third, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam disregard the Peace Treaty as the waste paper, occupied South Vietnam, and won in the wars against Cambodia and China. Nevertheless, military victory of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam hindered her national development, and gave causes that the country fell down as the one of poorest country in the world. And so, the Vietnam should have tried change of her economic system called Doi Moi policy which means the capital system.
The Cold War System built after the Second World War, is closely related with the Vietnam War (1955∼1975) and the Korean War (1950∼1953). In the future, the wars in the East Asia will be affected more by the dynamic international relationship than internal problems of other tribes.
Recently, four superpower countries around the Korean Peninsula are competing among others as well as opposing the Republic of Korea (ROK) with North Korea each other. If the ROK leaders and Korean peoples will be go forward smoothly on the surging tides of geo-politics, they need to accept precisely the lessons learned from the Vietnam.
Especially North Korean leaders were urged to accept the model of the Vietnam"s reform and opening as soon as possible after deep considerations about the lessons learned from the Vietnam which was blocked the national development.
