The purpose of this study was to identify the causal relationship between perceived child abuse and cyber delinquency and to test the mediating effect of depression between child abuse and cyber delinquency among middle school students. To investigate the mediating effect, structural equation model was used and data were analyzed using bootstrapping method. Data was employed from the wave 2 of Korean Children and Youth Panel Study (KCYPS), and analyzed data of 2,207 second grade middle school students. The results of this study are as follows. First, perceived child abuse has a positive effect on depression of their child. Second, depression has a positive effect on cyber delinquency. Third, depression has a mediating effect between perceived child abuse and cyber delinquency. Finally, theoretical and practical implications of these findings and suggestions are discussed.
