Many social problems have occurred recently in Korea because of increasing the use of Internet/games addiction. Since the addiction risk rate has increased every year, especially in the case of adolescents, any alternatives to their use are an urgent necessity so that the rate of adolescents’ addiction is to be reduced. But the disease entity of an internet/game addiction is not clear yet, so exact guideline is not established as well. For this reasons, psychosocial approaches have been more important for addiction therapy. In recently study many experts have recommended Cognitive Behavior Therapy(CBT) for the management of Internet/game addiction. Up to now, many studies have also been done in Family therapy(FT), Motivational Interviewing(MI), Camp program, Home-based Daily Journal(HDJ), Narrative therapy(NT), Reality therapy(RT), Art, Music and Physical Therapy(AMPT), Virtual Reality Therapy(VRT), Biofeedback which may be worth applying to clinical practice of prevention and treatment against several addictive behaviors. But as many adolescents were exposed to the dangerous addiction due to the fact that adolescents are immature in their self-control, school based programs are absolutely required. So HDJ could be effective in solving current addictive problems and additional long-term studies should be conducted for more aggressive therapeutic intervention.
