This study is designed to reveal the effects of Sports Club Activity on school Satisfaction and stress in college students. Therefore, I conducted a survey of current college students in In-cheon and. I divided the students into three groups: students who have joined sports clubs, students who have joined general clubs, and students who have not been involved in any clubs at all. The total number of survey participants was 247. During the data gathering phase, 20 of the most unreliable participants were excluded. Therefore, in this study, I use 227 reliable sources of data. To find the relationship between participants’ satisfaction with their school lives and managing stress, I conducted a correlation analysis. For the data processing, I analyzed data by using of SPSS v.18 statistical package program after the data coding and the data cleaning process. I did a frequency analysis to find the participants’ demographic characteristics. To analyze the reliability, I used Cronbach Alpha. To verify the validity, I did confirmatory factor analysis by using of AMOS ver.4. Also, I used Anova for the comparative analysis between demographic characteristic and the participants’ satisfaction with their school lives and the ways of coping with stresses. For the posteriori tests, I used Scheffe. To search the correlation ship between the participants’ satisfaction with their school lives and the ways of coping with stresses, I did the correlation analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, there is a significant difference in students’ satisfaction with their school lives and their ability to manage stress levels due to their participation in groups. Students who are involved in the general and sports club activities reported higher levels of satisfaction with their school lives and managing stress than students who were not. Then, students who were involved in official school clubs or off campus clubs felt a stronger bond with their schools and more stability in their school lives than students who were involved in online clubs. The former also reported high level of one particular kind of ability to manage stress, namely, problem-focused coping factor. Clearly, participating in sports club activities has a positive effect on students’ satisfaction with their school lives and managing stresses. Second, there were, however, no significant differences in levels of satisfaction with their school lives or in stress management were resulted from the rate of participation. That is, the degree, period, and frequency of participation in clubs of any kind did not affect students’ levels of satisfaction with school lives and managing stress. Third, according to the correlation analysis result, there is a positive and strong correlation between satisfaction with their school lives and coping with stress. Moreover, participation in clubs has a very positive effect on both. These results suggest that we need to encourage college students to participate in sports activities in order that they better cope with their stress. To encourage them to do so, we should provide basic information about sports activity programs. Also, we need to shed new light on the value and the role of sports in improving levels of students’ satisfaction with their school lives. In addition, much more research remains to be done about the various ways to foster the development of sports at school.
