Calvin considered sin as a disease. So man cannot only be described as sinner but also as patient. There are curiosity, illusion, idolatry, superstition, pride, egocentrism, etc., in man that he called disease. According to Calvin, the cause of such diseases is mankind`s rebellion against God and subversion of order. Here, man refused the world and the order which God created, at the same time, he built and consolidated the current order in which he is lord and god. But because such order is based on falsehood, man always needs the illusion, the defense, the tenacity to himself. Therefore the man becomes more and more distant from the truth, and he falls more deeply in the illusory order of the lie. For Calvin, the prescription to such a disease consists of returning to God and living according to his will. It means the restoration of the relationship with God and the obedience to him. That Calvin regarded sin as a disease and the sinner as patient betrays that he saw very seriously and deeply the sin of man. The sinner according to Calvin is not changed and restored so easily. He is a patient confronting death. He is unavoidable and mortal being. Further, even though Calvin saw man as patient, he has not the eyes of compassion. Rather he denounced and criticised more strongly the man as patient. At this point we can see his disgust toward man.
