개방화, 국제화 시대를 맞아 세계 각국은 무한 경쟁 속에서 상호공존과 번영을 위해 다양한 교류와 협력을 강화해 나가고 있으며, 특히 청소년 교류에 중점을 두고 추진하고 있다. 국제교류의 시작은 사람과 사람의 만남이다. 오늘날 문화, 정치, 경제 등 사회 각 분야에 청소년들이 참여하는 것은 세계적인 추세이다. 이제는 청소년을 단순히 보호대상으로만 보는 시각에서 벗어나 청소년들이 오늘을 사는 사회의 구성원으로서 사회발전에 적극 기여할 수 있도록 기회를 제공하여야 한다. 청소년에 대한 인식을 새롭게 하고 적절한 역할을 부여함으로써 청소년의 지위향상과 참여증진에 역점을 두어야 한다. 따라서 본 계획은 우리청소년과 주한 외국 청소년들의 세계의 다양한 문화를 이해하고 경험할 수 있는 교류의 장으로써 문화공간으로 계획하고자 하였다. 이를 위한 본 계획의 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 제 1장에서는 계획의 배경과 목적을 밝히고 이에 대한 계획방법을 제시한다. 제 2장에서는 계획에 대한 이론적 고찰의 단계로서 청소년 문화의 변화와 문화공간에 대한 요구에 대해 살펴보고, 청소년문화공간의 개념과 기능에 대해 분석하여 이를 계획에 적용하기 위한 방법들을 모색해보고, 국제문화교류 현황 및 청소년 교류실태에 대해 살펴본다. 제 3장에서는 청소년 문화시설에 대한 사례조사를 통해, 현 문화적 관점에서 다양한 공간의 프로그램을 도출해본다. 제 4장에서는 계획의 대상공간에 대해 파악한다. 제 5장에서는 우리청소년과 주한 외국 청소년들이 세계의 다양한 문화를 이해하고 경험할 수 있는 문화교류의 장으로서 공간을 계획함으로써 일상 속에서 자유로운 만남과 대화, 토론, 휴식을 통한 상호간 소통의 경험공간으로 발판을 제시하고자한다. 이 계획을 바탕으로 청소년 문화공간계획에 있어 보다 다양한 기초 자료를 제공하는데 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

on the occasion of the age of opening and internationalization, Every country of the world strengthens various exchange and cooperation for coexistence and co-prosperity in limitless competition. Especially, it promotes with more stress on the exchange for the youth. To swim with the current and develop to the central nation being able to lead the world, we should support the youth giving the chance of international exchange to experience the various foreign cultures to become sound having the leadership of globalization and awareness of the world citizen. In addition, the youth should have the ability as a cosmopolitan and the stuff for being able to be worried and handle the common problems for the 21st century, such as environmental disruption, diseases, starvation, unemployment, and so on with the foreign teenagers. The start of international exchange is meeting with a person and a person. The international trend at present is that teenagers take part in various fields of society, culture, politics, economy, etc... From now, we`d better offer them opportunities to contribute to social evolution as a member of society getting out of considering them for an object of protection. We should put emphasis on improving their position and participation with renewing the recognition for the youth and being endowed with the proper role. Therefore, this plan is the cultural space for our teenagers and foreign teenagers in Korea to understand diverse cultures of the world and experience the place for the exchange. The following is what this project summarizes. The 1st chapter clarifies the background, intention of the project and presents the planned method for it. The 2nd chapter is the step of theoretical study for the plan. It examines the change of the youth`s culture and the requirement for the cultural space, analyzes the concept and function of the cultural space for the youth, tries to find the ways to apply it to this plan, sees the present status of international cultural exchange and the actual condition of the youth`s interchange. The 3rd chapter deduces the various spatial programs from the current cultural point of view, through a case study of the cultural facilities for the youth. The 4th chapter understands space of the plan, develops the design with application the various expressions of producing the space to the plan of the cultural exchange area for the youth as the cultural space for the youth. The 5th chapter plans the space as the area of the cultual exchange for our teenagers and foreign teenagers in Korea to understand and experience the diverse cultures of the world. So, it presents a stepping-stone as the space for the communication through ordinary meeting, conversation, discussion, rest.
