The purpose of this research is to study the self-realization of high school students who are going through transition periods as they start on boxing trainings. In order to conduct the research with depth, enthnographic study, a qualitative research method was used as a tactic. The high school student participant was selected with a pre-interview whom would normally train for 1 hour a day, 3 times a week for more than a year in U City`s L Gymnasium. All data was collected through participant observations and in-depth interviews for four months from June 2012 to September 2012; data collected were analyzed through content analysis. Furthermore, triangulation, affirmation of research participant and advice from professionals were done to raise credibility of the research and to understand the intent of the participant as well as not to lead the research too subjectively with the researcher`s objective. Following is the summarized result of the research. First, there were various reasons for high school participants to start boxing training. Although there had been numerous obstacles during training, they were able to sagaciously overcome critical situations as people around them showed endless support and the students themselves presented a positive attitude. Second, the process of self-realization for high school student participants was successful as not only that they found their true self, but also experienced society in advance by mingling with co-trainees. They showed positive training results as they expressed contentment with their mental and physical selves. The students planned to continue getting trained to further achieve self-realization. Hence, training process and self-realization are interrelated rather than separately achieved for high school trainees.
