The purpose of this study was to test the causal relationship among basic psychology needs and subjective well-being in Participation of University Students Class on Cultural Physical Education. The subjects were 329(male university students: 183; female university students: 146) who are practicing (participation of university students class on cultural physical education) at eight universities in seoul. The subjects`s basic psychology needs(autonomy, competence and relatedness) in this study were measured by korean versionof the Basic Psychology Needs(BPN) and Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The analysis is used in analyzing the differences of basic psychology needs, subjective well-being by sex and one-way MANOVA for explaining sexual differences in the needs is used. As for the correlation between the basic psychology needs and underlying factors(autonomy, competence and relatedness) is analyzed by the correlation and canonical correlation analysis. Results indicated that female university students were significantly higher in (autonomy, competence and relatedness) than males university students. The result of the study on the needs of participation also shows the sexual differences. The basic needs had significantly indirect effect on subjective well-being. These results are discused in term of self-determination theory.
