The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between servant leadership and empowerment in commercial sports center`s employee. Also, this study sought to determine the relationship between servant leadership and organizational effectiveness in commercial sports center`s employee. The subjects of this study who were 220 commercial sports center`s employee were selected in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi-do, Daegu, Busan, Kyungsangnam-do using quota sampling method. The questionnaire consisted of 8 items of general demographic data, 13 items to reflect servant leadership, 11 items of empowerment, and 14 items of organizational effectiveness. The subjects were requested to indicate the extend of their agreement with each item on a 5-point Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. The internal consistency estimates(Cronbach`s alpha) were .81-85 for servant leadership, .80~.86 for empowerment, and .68~.83 for organizational effectiveness. In order to statistical analysis, this study used a SPSS version 15.0 program for windows. The results of the study were as followings; First, there was a significant positive effect of sense of community in servant leadership on self-determination of empowerment, and vision in servant leadership on task-meaningfulness and role-performance of empowerment. Second, vision of servant leadership had a significant impact on organizational commitment, and the factor of listening and sympathy of servant leadership had a significant impact on job satisfaction and turnover intention.
