The purpose of this study was to compare thigh muscle isokinetic function in athletic children and to provide the data for training methodology, rehabilitation and injury prevention. The subjects selected for this study were composed of 19 athletics female who divided into four groups by 4 of short runner, 5 of middle-long distance runner, 4 of jumping and 6 of throwers. In order to obtain these purpose, we used Cybex 770 at the speed of 60˚/sec, 240˚/sec on knee extension and flexion to measure isokinetic strength. The repetition were 60˚/sec×3, 240˚/sec×26. The variables measured were absolute & relative strength, total work, average power of knee extension and flexion. The data were analyzed utilizing ANOVA and Scheffe`s test were used α=.05 was chosen for the significance level. On the basis of the results analyzed in this study, conclusions were drawn as follows: (1) In keen extension of 60˚/sec, absolute strength of thigh muscle was significant difference between throwing and middle-distance runner, throwing and jumping of right and left(p<.01). Relative strength of thigh muscle was no significant difference between each major event group of female. In keen extension of 240˚/sec, absolute strength of thigh muscle was significant difference between throwing and middle-distance runner, throwing and jumping of right and left(p<.05). Relative strength of thigh muscle was no significant difference between each major event group of female. (2) In keen flexsion of 60˚/sec, absolute strength of thigh muscle was significant difference between throwing and middle-distance runner, throwing and jumping of right and left(p<.01). Relative strength of thigh muscle was no significant difference between each major event group of female. In keen extension of 240˚/sec, absolute strength of thigh muscle was significant difference between throwing and middle-distance runner, throwing and jumping of right and left(p<.05). (3) In keen extension of 60˚/sec, total work was significant difference between throwing and middle-distance runner, throwing and jumping of right and left(p<.01). Average power of thigh muscle was no significant difference between each major event group. In keen extension of 240˚/sec, average power of thigh muscle was no significant difference between each major event group. Total work was significant difference between throwing and middle-distance runner, throwing and jumping of right and left(p<.01). (4) In keen flexsion of 60˚/sec, average power of thigh muscle was no significant difference between each major event group. Total work was significant difference between throwing and middle-distance runner, throwing and jumping of right and left(p<.01).
