본 연구에서는 유아의 식행동 검사 도구 및 이에 영향을 미치는 부모와의 상호관계를 고려한 진단도구를 개발하고 그 신뢰도와 타당도를 입증하였다. 본 연구에서 개발 된 검사 도구가 향후 어머니와 영유아의 건전한 관계 형성을 위한, 부모의 식사지도 방법에 대한 맞춤형 가이드라인을 제공하는데 필요한 기초 자료, 영양서비스 확대를 위한 식행동 진단도구 등 다양한 방면으로 활용 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
