This study examined the conflict phenomenon of marine sports centers in Busan area and the aim of the study is to provide basic research data required to activate marine sports, For this purpose, a phenomenology, a qualitative research method, was used through in-depth interview with 9 persons including local residents, marine sports center affiliates, school parents, university professors and teachers, participation observation and literature review. As a result, the conflicts of marine sports centers in Busan area were as follows. Firstly, there was a conflict between marine sports center and local residents, Specifically, the marine sports center had diverse conflicts with parking problem of local residents and fishing right of local fishermen. Secondly, there was a conflict with negative bias, Specifically, there was a prejudice as a luxurious sports and also conflict with negative prejudice with sea, Accordingly, regarding such conflict phenomena, local governments need to review hardships of marine sports facilities in detail so that participants of marine sports could access sports more easily through various studies. In addition, if education on sea, especially marine education is provided through marine sports with joyful experience in sea, historically inherited negative prejudices against sea would disappear and marine sports would develop.
