This study proposes directions to improve the Korean Wave Index to enable the development of relevant cultural content industry policies and the strategic utilization of com￢panies specialized in the Korean Wave context. The new Korean Wave Power Index shall consists of the market share of the Korean Wave contents, the Korean Wave profits， and the mind share of the Korean Wave contents. By comparing each individual index, one can ex￢amine if the Korean Wave contents are competitive enough to maximize the profits， and can predict the sustainability of the Korean Wave contents themselves. Furthermore， to enhance the applicability of the Index to cultural policies， the study suggests that the classification system for the cultural content industry shall reflect the evolution of the Korean Wave Eco￢system and be re-arranged to enable the domestic and overseas comparison.
