The purpose of this study is to explore participating process, leisure constraints, and coping and factors for overcoming constraints of horseback riding participants and to make a theoretical model by revealing logical relationship between them. We analyzed them by applying a grounded theoretical approach. First, causal conditions and situational context formed the constraints of horseback riding participation by sequential impacts in participating process of horseback riding participants. Second, coping process for overcoming constraints of horseback riding participation showed social environmental area improvement and personal area improvement in action/ interaction strategies. Third, some phenomena in upper category of results were fed back to some upper categories in intervening conditions and gave partial effects. Through results derived from this study, we can more systematically understand the participating process and overcoming constraints of horseback riding participants and we think those results will help to promote further studies and expand the research scope.
