The number of granaries had been on the drastic increase to store foodstuffs when increasing them was a national goal. However, the changing industrial structure and the FTA conclusion have decreased the domestic rice production and made granaries lose their utility. In addition, as the farming population increases and the levels of cultural consciousness among the existing farmers rise, the central and local governments are reviewing a plan to remodel the granaries into cultural places for culturally alienated farmers. From this point of view, this study aimed to examine the architectural acoustic characteristics of granaries and determine their acoustic performance and problems. The resultant data are expected to be useful in remodeling the granaries into cultural places.
