The present research examines a parametric study on the plate heat exchanger type adsorption chiller by using numerical method. The reason for performing optimization on the new type of adsorption chiller other than fin-tube type which is the most common model is to develop more effective and more efficient cooling device for saving energy and improving system performance. For this reason, several important geometric parameters of plate heat exchanger such as embossing diameter ratio and embossing height are selected to be examined in terms of coefficient of performance (COP) and specific cooling power (SCP). The result shows the variation of each parameter with respect to COP and SCP and the performance degradation turns out to be within 10%. Given the small amount of performance degradation, plate heat exchanger turned out to be capable of replacing fin-tube type adsorption chiller.
