This research examined the effects of an emotion coaching group counselling program on middle school students with high depression, anxiety and suicide consideration. The emotion coaching group counselling program is one, based on emotion coaching, in which art therapy and reading therapy are carried out side by side. The subject of this research was female students, whose level of depression, anxiety and suicide was higher than average, out of 2nd graders of J middle school in Daegu. They were divided into Experimental group(N=6) and control group(N=6). The session was composed of 10 sessions in total, each for 40 minutes at the same time every week. Post and preliminary tests were conducted for the inspection of effects using measurements of depression, anxiety, suicide and self-esteem of which the reliability and validity were verified. SPSS 20.0 was used for data analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, the experimental group students, who took part in the emotion coaching group counselling program, showed a significantly reduced depression compared to the control group students. Second, the experimental group students showed a significantly reduced anxiety compared to the control group students. Third, the experimental group students showed a significantly reduced suicidal consideration compared to the control group students. Fourth, the experimental group students showed an increased self-esteem compared to the control group students. In conclusion, the emotion coaching group counselling of this study was found out to be efficient in reducing the depression, anxiety and suicide consideration of students and raising the self-esteem.
