It is a progress report on standardizing the construction specifications of industrial and environmental facility construction. Since it is first year of the project for the standardization, several issues were exposed for successful achievement of intended goals. Firstly, most significant common specifications should be established so that other specifications associated with individual constructions can be arranged accordingly in terms of duplication and contradiction. Secondly, compulsory table of contents should be reconsidered to cover those of sub-constructions in an efficient and concise way. Lastly, the way of correcting specifications to avoid duplication and contradiction should be computer-aided. Current practice of relying on human manual efforts is doomed to fail. The following techniques should be introduced for success of the project: 1) Conversion of pictured pdf documents into text ones, 2) application of data mining program to search similar sentences.
