This article aims to compare the implications of the masked dance in Hahoe and Gangneung masquerade and analyze them, in terms of the change of the proposal. The results are as followings; Byulsin exorcism of Hahoe was the worship for God who people believe protects themselves from the evil but today's exorcism has a form of artistic performance. In the making of the mask, the property of proposal is included but the movement of the dance does not have the property of it. Hahoe masquerade has the religious suggestion in the organization of it; it is one of the festivals, wishing for peace, good harvest of the village, in the content of the performance.
In Gangneung masquerade (of the slave}, all of the casts have the implication of the repelling. Most of the movement which had lost its nature is newly danced and does not have the essence of proposal. However, the masquerade wishes for well-being, good harvest of the village and includes the ritual of a guardian deity of a town, like the masquerade of the tutelary.
