This study was find out the effects of acquisition and retention phase on feedback type in motor learning. Subjects were 30 junior high school boys in 7th grade in Busan, Korea, who had no previous experience in the task. They volunteered in this experiment and were randomly assigned to one of the three groups: Bandwidth feedback group(10males). 50% feedback group(10males), no-feedback group(10males). The task was VTR, golf-putter, golf-ball, target related to golf-putting for beginners. The size of target was 1.0m×1.0m which ahs 20 line grids with 4cm cross in length and width. They did 5 acquisition phase, 3 retention phase of 30 putting and each phase consisted of 10 putting. Each subject was asked to putting a total of 50 individually. The other waiting subjects were asked to take a rest in the rest area. The dependent variables are the absolute errors and variable errors, which are obtained by the coordinates of X-axis and Y-axis. Absolute errors mean the performance accuracy and variable errors do the performance consistency. Two-way ANOVA(group and trial) with repeated measures was used to calculate the absolute errors and variable errors on the golf-putting performance. All data were presented as means SD. Tukeys HSD procedure was used for post hoc comparisons. The level of significance was set at P<0.05. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences(version 10.0 for windows) was used for all statistical analysis. The conclusions were as follows: 1. The acquisition phase of absolute error revealed that bandwidth feedback group performed significantly better accuracy than the 50% relative and no-feedback group. 2. The acquisition phase of variable error revealed that bandwidth feedback group and 50% relative feedback group performed significantly better consistency than the no-feedback group. 3. The retention phase of absolute error revealed that bandwidth feedback group and 50% relative feedback group performed significantly better accuracy than the no-feedback group.
