With the accelerated development of modern science and technology, the importance of knowledge plays an essential role. In addition, the development of new products also plays an important role. In order to improve the team performance, many scholars are conducting researches based on TMS(Transactive Memory System). Through reviewing the previous literatures, it can be known that TMS is a group-level memory system that involves the operation of the memory systems of the individuals and the processes of communication that occur within the group. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between TMS and team performance through knowledge use in the process of new products development in automobile parts industry. Based on real phenomenon of Korean automobile parts industry, this study tries to figure out the influence of knowledge use of team members through TMS on team performance. This study adopts TMS with specialty, credibility and coordination as antecedents, and employs knowledge use as a mediating variable, and adopts team performance as a dependent variable. Through the survey method, this study collected 171 responses of team-level from more than 80 automobile parts companies in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk province. This study provides empirical evidences to contribute academic and practical implication for the improvement of team performance, by suggesting a research framework based on TMS.
