Skiing and snowboarding are becoming increasingly popular. Accordingly, the incidences of injuries among skiers and snowboarders are also increasing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the injury patterns and the contributing factors of injuries in skiers and sonowboarders and to suggest management plan for injuries. Five-hundred eighty two who visited the ski resorts in Kangwondo and ski and snowboard association members were investigated by surveying. The factors of incidences were analyzed by using Windows SPSS 21.0 version. In results, 27.0% of women and 33.6% of men had injury experiences. Thirty percent of ski injuries and 27.5% of snowboard injuries were from beginners. Slipping was the most common injury mechanism. In conclusion, these results suggest that injuries during ski and snowboard can be prevented if skiers and sonwboarders do warming-up prior to skiing and sonwboarding and choose slope appreciate to their ski and snowboard skills.
