The purpose of this study was to examine implications regarding management of sports clubs by investigating the factors contributing to the successful maintenance and management of the team through the case of citizen`s club Bucheon FC, which is participating in K-League Challenge (2nd Division League) as of 2013. As a case study, the results of this study, through the analysis of documents and in-depth interviews with 6 soccer experts, were as follow. First, the supporters` pride as successors of the Korea`s first supporters ‘Hermes’ and club-centered management philosophy have been maintained so far. Second, with 44 small-scale local sponsors invited, a complete and thorough local community-based marketing has been realized. Third, synergy effect of sport and politics has been pursued and attained through persistent negotiations and persuasions. Fourth, non-paid workers have played a substantial role and open communications were being conducted between members of the club and supporters. Fifth, long-term policy for financial self-sufficiency such as charging money for the games and raising youths talents, has already been established.
