The purpose of this study was to investigate the processes that form modern dance professor`s occupational socialization and the influence of various experiences that would be revealed from the processes on their lives as dance professors. With three subjects who have experiences with domestic and overseas stage performances and careers in the teaching profession, this study carried out a profound analysis of their life histories including their lives before being dance professors and the processes of their occupational socialization through deep interviews, writings, and collected data etc. The results of this study can be summarized as follows, First, in the anticipatory socialization, the subjects turned out to have been introduced into dance by mother`s adviceor their personal tastes, Their university admission was recommended by their teachers or families or selected by their own decision in order to gain further expertise, Second, in the professional socialization, the subjects chose to study in America as another challenge for success. Third, in the occupational socialization, the subjects returned to Korea to live a professional life as a professor which is recommended by friends. With senior fellows, they made efforts for foster younger generations using diverse educational methods as artists and educators on the basis of their experiences during their overseas years, and in this course they have called for changes in dance education while noting limitations in university dance education.
