The purpose of this study was to put an emphasis on physical education of Kindergarten and to give some guidelines for the improvement of the curriculum. The three important problems of this study are as follows : 1. What`s the basis in branching the objectives of physical education which are suggested in the fourth kindergarten curriculum (Ministry of Education 87-9)? 2. What`s the point of the objectives for physical development domain suggested in the kindergarten education guidelines. 3. How many subjects are there that are related to the physical education of kindergarten in the curriculum of the training centers for kindergarten teachers, And what are the problems of teaching them? The results of this study are as follows : First, the object classification of the fourth physical education curriculum of kindergarten is based on the development of infant body. This classification has a strong point that it can clearly present the preparation and the types of exercises on the basis of development level. But this has also a weak point that the logical system of physical development can be neglected. Therefore, exercise analytic approach also should be needed. Secondly, according to the guidelines of kindergarten education, the most important domains are gross-motor domain and fine-motor domain, the next will be perceptual-motor, and the last will be health and safety domain. This order might be natural in the point that the perceptual-motor develops mostly before kindergarten education, and health and safety education is emphasized through home training. However, considering that the period of infancy is most important one for forming a healthy habit and an accident is the first reason for infant death, we should give more emphasis on the health and safety education. Thirdly, the subjects on the infant physical education in the curriculum are greatly insufficient, and those subjects are not obligatory but optional. Hence, more importance was given to the practical talent than to the basic understanding of physical education. Furthermore, the physical education is mostly conducted not by the teachers majoring in physical education or dancing but by those majoring in infant education, so the characteristics and system of physical education are easy to be neglected. Therefore, the physical educational subjects should be given much more weight in the curriculum of infant education. Also there should be a cooperation throught team teaching between majors of physical education and those of infant education.
