Safety fundamentally protects human life, property and environment on the premises of existence of human beings. It is one of the critical technologies required in construction. Today, it is the responsibility of the construction engineers to overcome disasters and secure safety. Furthermore, societal demands on safety and environment in addition to strengthened safety standards have become the barometer to measure the competence of the construction company and its engineers. However in reality, due to environmental constraints around the construction sites along with expansion, mixed-use, Manhattanization and large-scale excavation of deep underground, it is not easy to secure the construction safety. Also, lack of safety awareness of directors, insufficient capacity and use of safety techniques of construction engineers, and lack of detailed and systematic safety inspections in facility maintenance lead to high risk of construction accident and maintenance hazards. If the goal is achieved through efficient control and management of constrained resources in construction production, safety accidents related to construction and facility management will become threats to achieving the goal. Therefore, it is critical to be aware of safety measures and practices in order to secure safety of construction structures. From this perspective, this paper presents safety measures for construction and facility management.
