Supervisors have considerable influence on employee attitudes and behaviors; therefore, there is a need to understand about how to supervisors factors effect to employee"s commit. But past researches have not explored the relationship between inducing factors with supervisor and relationships with other variables. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between supervisors factors(supports, communication, trust) and organizational commitment. To test hypotheses about the relationships above, survey data were collected from 368 employees of travel agent.
The results provided evidence that trust in the supervisor plays a more important role than other variables do. But supervisors monitering does net effect on employee commitment. Practical managerial application is that supervisors should be made aware of the importance of treating their subordinates with benevolence if they hope to be trusted by their subordinates. Supervisors take social ties with the employee and would use a method of forming trust in them.
This study has a number of limitations that needs to be addressed in future research. This study used cross-sectional examination. Future research should use a more appropriate method when available. In addition, other effect factors could exist such as characteristics of supervisors.
