This study investigated the relationship between the experience of immersion in the target L2 and the quality of the L2 output. It was hypothesized that the experience would positively affect the quality of L2 output. For data collection, the participants (n = 30) were divided into three groups with the equal number: Immersed speakers of Korean (ISK), No immersed speakers of Korean (NISK), and Native speakers of English (NE). The participants in each group were given scripts in English, intended to illicit their oral output in English. With the PRAAT showing waveform and wideband spectrograms, the quality of each participant"s L2 output was evaluated by prosodic features such as pitch accent, final-lengthening, and pause duration. The findings of this study indicated that the output of the participants in NISK was significantly different from that of the participants in the other two groups. The findings further indicated that the participants in ISK seemed to produce more native-like output, compared to that of NE. In regard to the quality of L2 output, some more interesting findings and implications will further be discussed.
