The works <Sahyanggok>, <manghyangga>, <Sahyangga>, <Wonbyeolhoegokyeera>, <Bunyeojatanga> are a new Gasa materials hitherto unknown to academia. <Sahyanggok>, <manghyangga>, <Sahyangga> was written by women who lived as a diaspora of colonial woman in Japan. <Wonbyeolhoegokyeera> and <Bunyeojatanga> was written by women who lived in waiting for her husband not to come back to home. Male’s motive of going to Japan was ‘making money’ in <Sahyangga> <Bunyeojatanga>, and ‘studing abroad’ in <Sahyanggok> <manghyangga> <Wonbyeolhoegokyeera>. Under the title of ‘Experience of Japan and Female Gasa in the colony period’ this study will research both Gasa types. This paper aims for probing the literary significance of these Gasa works.
In chapter 2, it presented outline of 5 Gasa materials and different editions, and explicated the writer and written time of each Gasa works. Most of these female writers born in a famous family at kyongbuk region. Most of these Gasa works was written in 1930s. In chapter 3, it analysed the life of female writers. Female writer"s life in Japan or the life waiting for her husband was determined by man. Female writer"s life was the life to be forced by man. In chapter 4, it analysed female writer"s life as a diaspora of colonial woman in Japan. As a diaspora of colonial woman in Japan, they desperately missed home country. True nature of home country to miss was not the family in law but her parents and place of birth. In chapter 5, it clarified the literary significance of these Gasa works. these Gasa works reflect the pain of our ordinary people in the colony period.
