In order to be effective leaders, today’ s students must learn the critical thinking skills required of future careers. With employers indicating that graduates are not demonstrating the skills required in the area of critical thinking, post-secondary business educators must develop methods to improve transference of critical thinking skills at higher levels. This paper presents a process for increasing critical thinking courses in management courses at the university level that is based on Bloom’ s 1956 taxonomy. Through the use of a rubric and instructional changes to the existing case-based teaching process, this case study examines the difference in overall critical thinking skills increase between the case-based classroom and the case-based classroom that is supplemented with formal critical thinking instruction and feedback. The results indicate in-creased transferability of critical thinking skills in classrooms that combine formal critical think-ing skills instruction and feedback in addition to the case-based method, and provides a rubric and instructional template for educators to use in their classrooms.
