This study aims at female students at College of Education to examine their causes for fearing and avoiding physical education, by examining their present and past experiences and awareness. For the study, interview in depth was done with eight female students at College of Education. As a result, the causes of female students at College of Education fearing and avoiding physical education, or their negative awareness, are the following: first, ‘negative experience in physical education,’ which was formed deeply inside while they were in school; seconcl, ‘unsatisfactory curriculum’ that allows female students to have smooth physical education; and thircl, ‘insufficient expertise of teaching,’ composed with such negative experiences and unsatisfactory curriculum. These causes do not stand independently; they are in structural problem that all are connected to each other. Therefore, continuous researches on ‘physical education at elementary, middle, and high schools’ and ‘curriculum related to physical education at College of Education’ are necessary, followed by practical changes.
