Under the influence of Japanese, in Korea, we usually have separate engineering departments such as Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering. However this is not compatible with the global trend. Most universities in the world have one engineering department, which integrates Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering. Currently, Korea University has the system called School of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering that combines both Architectural Engineering and Civil Engineering. The integrated system of Korea University has resulted in excellent evaluations from various organizations like BK-21, QS World University Ranking and JoongAng Daily. Also, with this system, we could initiate various collaboration researches and give the integrated knowledge to students. We strongly believe that this new attempt of Korea University will not only provide other university with the right way, but also satisfy various demands from construction markets.
