As the usage of smartphone becomes popular and the applications gradually cover PC’s work, security threat from virus needs to be concerned. Taking advantage of more convenient network feature such as wifi and 3G, viruses are able to take fast propagation. Anti-virus program for smartphone is essential soon because there have been various viruses targeted at smartphone. More standardized smartphone OS and provided application development SDK makes virus programming easier, especially for open source Android OS. This paper presented framework for a light-weight anti-virus program for smartphone considering hardware limitations. A prototype program is developed on Android. Also the efficiency test is presented. And the test result shows positive performance efficiency.
