This study is about the high frequency beep noise of automotive electronic brake system. Generally, beep noise is generated by the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control solenoid valve. PWM control of solenoid coil generate current ripple. Ripple change the electromagnetic force of the solenoid valve and generate a fine vibration. This vibration is transmitted to the vehicle dashboard that drivers can recognize the noise. In order to solve this problem, have to avoid PWM control at the audible frequency band, block noise transmission path and minimize the variation of the electromagnetic force. In this study, approached the electrical point of view. There are the electrical solutions that increase the inductance of coil to reduce current ripple, decrease available current to reduce electric energy and increase current band to desensitize response of solenoid valve. Optimized valve and coil through simulations using Maxwell, conducted experiments and achieved the quality level of customer satisfaction.
