The purpose of this study is to suggest effective methods for applying Building Information Modeling(BIM) to the design of Block Residential Project in practice. This study is mainly conducted through finding the practical combination of unit plan models, the part of the main building modeling. The process of this study is as follows. First of all, to understand the characteristics of the domestic Block Residential Project design the literature reviews are carried out. Secondly, problems are derived from the current modeling methods through creating various sample Block Residential Projects based on BIM. To solve the problems, the optimized combination methods of the unit plan models and the main building models are suggested.
