소량의 인듐이 첨가된 치과용 Au-Ag-Cu-Pd 합금의 상변태와 미세구조의 변화를 경도시험, X선회절 실험, 전계방출주사전자현미경 관찰 그리고 에너지 분산형 엑스선 분광분석을 시행하여, 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 시효 초기에 경독 잠복기를 거치지 않고 빠르게 상승한 다음 완만히 상승하여 최고 경도에 도달하였고 최고 경도를 일정기간 유지하고 나서 서서히 하강하였다. 용체화 처리한 시편을 등온시효 처리한 결과 단일상인 α<sub>0</sub>상이 Au-Ag-rich α₁상과 AuCuⅠ상 그리고 Cu와 Zn이 고용된 InPd상으로 변태하였다. 시효 초기의 경화는 입내에서 AuCu Ⅰ상의 석출로 인한 격자변형에 기인하는 것으로 생각된다. 시효처리 시간을 연장함에 따라 생기는 과시효 연화는 입내 조직의 조대화와 입계의 층상조직의 생성과 성장에 기인하였다.
