Park Nosik(1897~1933) called “Haijin of Masaoka Shiki of Choseon” in the Japanese ruling period and he traveled to Seokwangsa in Seolbongsan between May to October in 1930. This fact was not widely known, but confirmed in the records of the Haiku magazine Karitago he published. As Park Nosik was called “the Basyo of Choseon”, his travel to Seokwangsa was compared with that of Basho’s Okunohosomichi. Park’s travel to Seokwangsa was not conducted by Park Nosik himself but by suggestion of a Haijin, Eguchi Hoeiro in Wonsan, Hamkungnamdo Province. Park Nosik was a Haijin of Mokpo and had retired from the company because of tuberculosis. The travel was happened by the suggestion of Eguchi Hoeiro for Park’s treatment at the cool place in Seokwangsa. Another Haijin, Yamamoto Baishi visited Seokwangsa which represented Kansai around the beginning of August. Besides, 9 Haijins from Mokpo, China and the northern regions of the Korean Peninsula held a big Haiku meeting at Seokwangsa. Around Park, many Japanese Haijins attended the meeting from far places.
Mokpo was located at the far western region of Korean peninsula, and was far away from Seoul to the eastern and northern areas. The trip to Seokwangsa of Park Nosik could make him meet many Haijins for his first time, and it became the crucial event that enhanced the reputation of Park Nosik.
