In this paper, we propose an event-based photo clustering method for mobile device use. The proposed method first obtains initial boundaries of the album via an adaptive time scaling function. In each boundary, we generate a directed graph using both time and visual information. More specifically, we use color and texture features for extracting visual information. Then, we determine final event boundaries from cut edges of the directed graph. From experimental results, we confirm that the proposed algorithm provides reliable and perceptually plausible clustering results.
