This study was to analyze kinematic variables regarding the segmental movements of lower and upper limbs, along with tail-twirling movements. The results were as in the following: in the phasel, subjects largely swung their lower limb. In the section 3, they narrowed the swing radius of their lower limb much more than the first to step over the bar, which took a longer time to do it. The swing velocity increased as they were moving their trunk from side to side.
With respect to angular variance, especially the flexion angle, ankle joints showed a difference from E1. It is most likely to result from unstable start; specifically, subjects could not offset angular momentum loaded onto their lower limb in the jumping process, and also could not sufficiently flex their one ankle so as not to lose their balance. In the case of hip joints, they had to widen the swing radius by stretching themselves flat; at this point, they flexed their shoulder joint proximally to the full, which is expected to be important in improving physical stability. In addition, shoulder and elbow joints were used to lift the body up at E3 and E4. As regards angular velocity, subjects could twirl their lower limb more rapidly with their right foot as the pivot, which was presumed to influence changes in the movements of hip joints, whereupon the upper limb was slower than the lower limb. In widening the turning radius of the trunk, subjects straightened themselves with feet advanced and bent themselves forward with feet pulled back. Another feature is that subjects made their trunk become off the center of rotation by moving it consciously from side to side, and that they turned right from the apparatus.
