The BIM(Building Information Modeling) data as an architectural digital model is currently important because of the expansion of applying by Korean government and AEC(Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry. The way of displaying of architectural model is shifting rapidly from traditional mock-up model to digital model. Therefore the utilizing of architectural digital model is one of the research topics have to be dealt with in order to make it more efficient. Recently the NUI(Natural User Interface) technologies are developed and implemented in many areas of computer technology and other fields such as entertainments, manufacturing, architecture and art. Because of the non-touched method of the interface principles is a quite merit in manipulation and controlling of virtual object. There are mainly two kinds of devices developed in industrial area currently, which are Kinect sensor and Leap Motion sensor. In this paper, the new workflow and the method of using architectural digital model are introduced to make the architectural design process more efficiently. Specially, the process of implementation of Leap Motion sensor is described. The short comparison of Kinect and Leap Motion was carried out. The game engine was also surveyed and implemented in the workflow because of the demands for quality of real-time rendered movie and many interactive functions in virtual world. The main workflow starts from data conversion of architectural digital model in BIM application to make acceptable data format in the game engine. In the game engine the Leap Motion sensor was integrated to control the virtual model of architecture. The basic control of architectural digital model using hand gesture has become possible through this work process. The possibility of using hand gesture is quite significant in manipulation of digital model. The future work will be more focused on the suitable interactions for design development process and space experience of this workflow through the analysis of characteristics of architectural design process.
