The purpose of this study is to figure out the spatial structure of knowledge network between regions through analysis of joint patent network in Korea. This study investigated regions which are located in power nodes with indicators of centrality, and sub community structures in network using Newman’s community detecting method from 2000 to 2010. Above all, we could find scale free as the network characteristic of co-invention patent network. As a result, spatial structure of knowledge network was found to transform from regions clustered neighbors to scattered regions between 2000 and 2005. In addition communities have each two more power nodes as a core of networks. Moreover these poser nodes are also shift and centralizing southern Gyeonggi region and Daejeon region. The result of this study indicates spatial model of knowledge network is transforming urban systems between regions to hierarchical urban network system.
