The continued steep drop in large public-sector construction opportunities, decline in tunk-key demands and the downturn of private sector developments have greatly impacted the domestic architectural market which consequently and significantly impeded the steady growth and the survival of major architectural firms in the country. Thus, the attempts to enter the global market have now become no longer a matter of choice but necessity to most of large domestic architectural companies. The current global engineering market(including architectural market) trend is transforming from a simple contract base into an “One-Stop Solution” developments requiring comprehensive understanding of the project and professional expertise to obtain effective and efficient results. The three major strategies in the global market are: (1) business diversification; (2) professional expertise; and expertise; and (3) strengthening the global network. The global architectural companies expand their portfolios by diversifying their services from architectural design services towards feasibility study, business planning, Master Plan, Program Management(PM), Construction Management(CM) and construction services, and by securing competitiveness through solid local network system to strengthen their position in the global market. In the times of globalization, overcoming the language and communication barrier is the top priority in order to understand and reconcile the different culture. The corporations need to acquire an international mindset, while securing competent manpower. The organizations with prepared mind and who strive to minimize the risk will only have the chance survive and strengthen their position against the unlimited competition in the global market.
