Michael Servetus was burnt to death at the stake near Geneva, at Champel, on 27 October 1553, because he did not believe the doctrine of the Trinity and he refused the practice of infant baptism. Servetus was one of the most creative and innovative thinkers of the 16<SUP>th</SUP> century. He tried to prove that the doctrine of the Trinity did not have foundation in the Scripture through his studying about original language of Scripture and early Church Fathers‘ works. Moreover, he was interested in a various kind of science disciplines, such as geography, mathematics, astronomy, astrology, medicine, psychology, anatomy, physiology and so on. He was a really Renaissance polymath. Especially, his discovery of the pulmonary circulation was the most important achievement. Servetus was a brave man who took a stand against the old tradition. Science can never take a new step without such a brave man.
