It has been tried to apply the new media to the surface of building since old days. As the digital and IT devices become more prevalent and the boundary between art and technology becomes more fuzzy the media devices or media art technologies have appeared as the new media for decorating or expressing the building structures. Among them, the projection mapping is one of the representative techniques, which is currently frequently used by artists to express the space. It is the video projection on the screen by converting the video into light and projecting it onto the screen through beam projector. It appears clearer when used at night time or dark evening when there is no natural light. Accordingly, it is more easy to apply in the limited space rather than general space. In this study, the application was limited to the non-regular and temporary spaces for studies and the analysis was conducted with cases where the projection mapping technology was utilized to achieve the objectives of events. This study is to study how the projection mapping can be applied to the architectural building. The findings of this study would be used as the data for future study on how the space techniques should be used as new media.
