Nendo, a Japanese design studio at the center of the world’s attention, does not limit itself in one particular field but actively spans its design properties across architecture, commercial space, exhibition, housing, light fixture, furniture and product design. nendo does not seek its creative derivations from far beyond but rather from our day-to-day living thus eliciting sympathy from the general public. The beautiful yet simple, innovative yet accessible designs that provoke one’s sensibility have attracted increasing attention from the rest of the world. Self-defined as "datsuryoku design", nendo has thrown a new keyword to our population.
The purpose of this study is to observe the interpretation of the design process of the newly emerged "datsuryoku design" and the entailed logic and spatial characteristics as proposed by nendo.
