This study aims to explore regional risk assessment based on the probability of disaster. The analysis also attempts to generate the safety index of regional disaster events, which stochastically follows Poisson distribution. In this article, traffic accidents, natural disasters and fires are chosen as the main disasters of Korea. Multidimensional scaling(MDS) method are used to differentiate the analysis results visually. It can be said from the analysis results that the probability distribution on regional disaster risk has dramatically changed over the past forty years and reflects various aspects of regional safety environments. The results also support that local governments will have to effectively cope with the main disasters in terms of regional-specific risk management.
