This study was investigated that effect of regular physical education class on body composition and bone mineral density of female university students with sarcopenic : 12 subjects in experimental group experienced regular physical education class(EG), 12 subjects in control group(CG). Their body composition was estimated with InBody 4.0 and their BMD were measured with Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry(PRODIGY, GE Medial System Lunar). The followings are the conclusions of this study.
1. Body composition of the exercise group were not significantly lower than that of non-exercise group in the weight, fat mass, %body fat, but exercise group were significantly higher than that of non-exercise group in skeletal muscle mass(p<.05), fat-free mass(p<.05). 2. Lumbar BMD of the exercise group were significantly higher than that of non-exercise group in Lumbar 3(p<.05) but except Lumbar 1, Lumbar 2, Lumbar 4, Lumbar Total. 3. Femure BMD of the exercise group were significantly higher than of non-exercise group in Femur neck(p<.05), Femur trochante(p<.05), Femur Total(p<.05). 4. Total BMD of the exercise group were not significantly higher than that of non-exercise group. As a results, regular physical education class may help to improve body composition, BMD on female university students with sarcopenic.
